Silhouettes, as their name implies, has a reasonable but small selection of lingerie. Their Night’n’Day line has ten bras to choose from, and sizes range from 36-48â€, and cup sizes range from C-E. Neither sexy nor not, these are the types of bras intended to be worn in real life: supportive, firm, and for the most part free of painful underwires. With prices ranging from $16-38, I would expect these bras to last me 1-2 years. Most are the type I would wear to take a few visual pounds off, as they provide a decent amount of lift.
According to their sizing chart, they run sizes up to 7x overall. Beneath the chart is a body-type chart intended to assist plus size women with choosing flattering pieces for themselves. I can’t say I agree with the chart – it recommends shoulder pads for two body types, a clothing feature I consider universally unflattering. It also recommends wearing chunky jewelry close to the face; while fine once in awhile, chunky anything close to the face as a regular look causes people to remember that the wearer is chunky.
As you already know from a previous critique, I see Silhouettes as somewhat of a mixed bag. The clothing is mostly stylish, the lingerie definitely serves its market, but I have questions about how Silhouette feels about its target market since all their models are NOT plussies.
