Digging Through the Lingerie Stores: Wal-Mart
In the past two years, Wal-Mart has grudgingly – and repeatedly – surprised me with quality garments that survive even my rough-and-tumble impact. Gone are the days of panties that tear at first wearing. No more do seams just fall out of a new skirt. Bras have real potential to fit. Despite the continuous limitation of its plus size section, Wal-Mart maintains one, and its smallness allows its gems to shine through the dreck. Yes, they’re corporate and evil, and I only buy from them as a last resort borne of desperation … but corporate evil’s done some decent quality control the last two years.
Among their limited but reasonable-quality pieces is this uplift bra, available in sizes up to DDD. It’s actually a lasting piece, and again with the skinny model for the plus wear. Still, if you’re forced to “sell-out” and go Wally World as has sometimes happened to me, at least that investment of self-compromise will last a little longer than it used to.
