This just in from the Budget Fashionista: Old Navy is discontinuing their in-store plus line; all plus clothing will be available online, only. Now, every time I’ve walked into an Old Navy, two things have happened: first, the clerk would offer help and then have no comprehension of what I asked for. The last occasion where I wandered in, this person did not know the word “courier bag,” and was very confused. These were native English speakers; the shortness of fashion vocabulary represents the company quite poorly, especially after courier bags had been “in” for a good three seasons. Second, I got directed to their website – every single time I’ve gone in. I already know that Old Navy doesn’t really want me as a customer, given that I’ve been marginalized in their stores from the get-go.
This is frustrating, too, as in past years I had foregone their website because it was only available through Internet Explorer, and I hate Internet Explorer. At least now I can surf OldNavy.com through Firefox or Opera.
At this point, as far as I can tell, the news about the discontinuation is unconfirmed. The only sources I’m seeing are the post from the reliable Budget Fashionista, and from comments that the author linked to in Curvy Chicks Forum.
