Information on Alli

I can understand, being my size, the temptation of taking Alli. All I can say is, please, please don’t – if you’re involuntarily soiling yourself, you’re just reinforcing stereotypes about fat people being smelly, and this really runs counter to what we’re doing by trying to find ways to live in a conscious, healthy way that allows our bodies to determine our natural biological settings as a result of healthy, active living.

However, if you need more of a reason than the near-guarantee you’ll poo yourself in public while you’re on it, Drugs and Poisons blog and Angry 365 Days a Year have some information you won’t find on the Alli website. As one commenter posted, all this drug really does is encourages a new kind of bulimia – and, as the cashiers at the store that sell it have commented, the people buying it are not the ones who “need” it.

Diet pills are not and never will be the answer – the body regulates itself, and does a good job, until you start pouring in chemicals. You throw one system out of whack, like digestion and elimination, others will follow. And from what I hear, renal failure is never a party.

  1. Is ANYONE buying Alli? The displays in my local Walgreens are already looking a little dusty, despite the stacks of promotional brochures that litter the counter. And BTW, does anyone remember those tasty chips fried in Olestra? Do they sell those anymore (not that I’m looking to buy… half a bag of those was very effective aversive reinforcement).
