Critique: MyShape.com
MyShape is a newish site that asks you for your measurements quite thoroughly, and based on this measurements and your style preferences, recommends a series of clothing that should fit you nicely in a “personal shop” automated by a search based on your measurements.
I reviewed it because a friend requested it, and I can see where she got frustrated. There’s actually a fairly narrow range of shapes allowed, and a woman close to six feet tall like my friend is not within that range. They also don’t have a lot of selection from their plus sizes, and sizing stops – loosely – at 24W, which pretty much rules me out from the waist down. My “personal shop” only rendered one outfit. Granted, it’s actually a pretty good one, but opening up to sites like Igigi and Fashion Overdose would definitely provide their larger visitors with many more stylish options.
