So Dots and Lucky Magazine are both pushing a trend towards colored jeans. Indeed, the 80s - and for me, the early-to-mid 90s in the Midwest - are back again. In college, I owned a pair of red jeans. I bought them before my freshman year, wore them once over the summer, and then completely lost my nerve. They were red. They were loud. And I really didn’t own any black shirts to go with them. Pair that with my body awkwardness - I had recently gained back all the weight from a high school diet - and I just didn’t have the courage let alone the imagination required to pull off a look like that.
Nowadays, I have to add my over 30ishness into the equation, and I have to conclude that for me, the days of colored denim are past. However, for those under 25, I think that the conventional wisdom about wearing colored jeans is pretty on: keep it simple, the jeans are the focal statement of the outfit. Go with an unprinted top that flatters your countours and keep the jewelery and makeup subtle.
Shoes seem pretty problematic with colored jeans - I personally think that keeping shoes dark, and even wearing flats, are the best bet because again, the color does all the talking.

I couldn’t agree with you more colored jeans I would say are definitely for the younger crowd and even they might think twice about rocking them.
I’m mean who wants to be seen in the same pair/color twice and not to mention the accessories needed.
