Here are my wishlists for plus size websites that I shop on. This may change, or be repeated, over time:

I wish:

For there always to be an option to sort by size. I couldn’t give a hoot about brand or what’s newest or most popular. I’m looking for stuff that fits my life, starting with actually fitting me.

For some consistency in sizing. 3X can mean anything from 36 to 50 inches for the waist; it’s frustrating. Could indie designers please band together on that one and set some standards? It would be hilarious to watch the big name fashion Mafia forced to follow the little guys. The blustering alone would put John Cleese to comedic shame.

Use plussie models. Actual plussies, not size 12s. If the argument for using the size 12s is because “the clothing hangs better” then you’re doing a bad job of designing for plussies. We big. Hang it on us.

I also wish that stores that “deign” to carry up to 18 not to label themselves as plus. Now this could be controversial, but I think that people up to size 18 can quite possibly have non plus-type bodies, based on their skeletal structure. Except in unusual circumstances, like when there is custom alteration possible, I won’t list a store unless they go as high as a size 22, maybe a 20 if the measurement standards are generous.

Also, ease of navigation is huge. I don’t use keywords so much as I browse, because names for items aren’t consistent, and I will bite through my own tongue before I ever run a keyword search for something “flirty.” (Have I mentioned that I hold in highest contempt the marketers that came up with that? Argh! My clothing doesn’t flirt. I do. And actually, I pretty much don’t.)

Also, for those that offer lingerie - making foundations suggestions for what to wear under the clothing would actually be hugely useful. For instance, instructions on attaching thigh highs, the right type of garter, the right bra for that shell top - those are all useful to know when buying.

Thank you! I am an online shopaholic! I feel as though you crawled into my head and said the words I couldn’t find! Now how do we get this spammed to every plus site for a month solid and see if the “get it”

Oh, me too, me too!! ESPECIALLY the “sort by size” option! Nothing is worse than a certain site’s “pick color and then size” dropdown boxes, which only have sizes I don’t want for the color I do want. If I can’t buy it in my size, don’t let me look at it, dammit!
