Plus Size Fashion and Dating- for Men
I recently stumbled upon this dilemma from Ask Metafilter

While it’s not news to me that larger men also feel some awkwardness entering the dating scene, I thought it was interesting that someone stepped up and gave some advice about proper fit of clothing. I have seen guys with big guts running around with improperly fitting shirts, so that the belly flies out at me at really socially awkward moments. I also admit that I gravitate towards better-dressed men; my boyfriend has the Geek Chic thing down pretty well (although I’m not above disappearing a few T-shirts on him here and there) and while I’m not out seeking a full-on metrosexual, I appreciate a guy who takes time to pluck his monobrow into another step up the evolutionary scale. Now, dating and appearance are really hot topics for people of all size, especially for us plussies whose weight may or may not be an added complication. So my question to those who are attracted to men: how much of appearance attraction is based on clothing, and how much is based on body type?
I would say a lot for me is about teh face. Eyes and facial hair. Grooming is important and smell! Other than that? Well, the pants below your butt thing is sooo OVER!!! Go to Casual Male XL and get stuff that fits! Stay away from athletic wear outside of actual sports activities and sports bars and smile! Because, “You’re never fully dressed without a smile!”
Eyes, grin, and whether or not he carries himself with confidence. Squared shoulders and a lifted chin with a long, strong stride. Intelligence in the eyes and wryness in the grin are deal sealers. Good grooming and good smells go without saying.
