According to the Environmental News Network, chocolate is absolutely not addictive. It’s just tasty. This leads to further contentions that food addiction is a myth, and that compulsive overeating is still driven by social and psychological factors. (And as a compulsive overeater, I have to add a “duh!” to that).

Why Harvard Wants You to Be Unhealthily Thin is a must read, just because it explains where so much of the diet and fashion industry’s aggressive and often abusive insistence on size 0 comes from. (Found via Monkeyfilter). It’s really summed up quite simply: people die from being too thin. People suffer from being too fat – and the suffering in most cases is purely social. Suffering can be resolved; death cannot.
