43% of US Market is Plus Size

I just found this gem on Curvety.com: 43% of the US market is plus size. 43% of shoppers are considered a size 12 or above.
So why is it, then, that only a fraction of stores offer plus sizes? And why are we so insistent that a size 6 is normal when it’s really below average? We need to take back the streets – and take back the media – because clearly, the division between fantasy (00) and reality (12) has gone much, much too far.
