For those in the DC area, there’s a Fat Flea Market today.

First, how long has your flea market been going on?
this is the first time we’ve done it.
Where are the donations coming from?
i put up an ad on fatshionista to see if any members in the dc area had a ton of clothes they were interested in selling/trading as well & didn’t want to do a sales post because of sheer volume.
Do you have any corporate sponsorships/indie designers involved?
that i am not sure about. i’m sure some of my clothing is by indie designers, & hopefully some of the other ladies’ are as well.
What will proceeds go to?
personally, i’m looking to barter & trade. any money i make will selfishly go to myself, probably, for new clothes. the other ladies will do as they will.
Where are you from? What’s your background?
i’m from maryland, grew up in the dc area & i work in real estate law. however, i went to broadcasting school. i’m also a dj, timewaster, & professional cutup.
What’s your fashion philosophy?
if it’s black, it looks good. if it’s made of fake fur, false bling or gold glitter, you must have it.
What do you really want people to know about your flea market?
almost every time i go thrifting or consignment shopping with friends, i walk away empty-handed because there is nothing in my size. here’s a place just for us to shop.
