I was actually relatively willing to go along with Old Navy’s moving all plus clothing to online only. Yes, it was a crappy move that basically said “we just don’t want to see you in our stores,” but to me, I could tolerate it since in my opinion the new plus-only designs are WAY better than the “like everyone else, but larger” looks they previously offered, and since I tend to buy all my clothing online anyway because I loathe the pitfalls of the social interactions other women seem to expect of me in stores.

But the notices on the mailings they’re sending out now are pissing me off: “IN STORE ONLY!” reads most of their holiday offers. And even though I don’t even have plans to buy anything from Old Navy - the cashmere sweaters can wait for clearance - it’s still making me really mad. They ban us fatties from the store, and then they snub us from any special treatment? Where’s the special offer just for plussies? Free shipping? C’mon, throw us fatshionistas a bone here. $5 shipping is cute and all, but don’t we deserve some 20-40% discounts, too? It doesn’t cost that much more to make plus clothing, it’s the same kids and the same tiny stitching…
