I’m on a small vacation of late, thus the fewer posts. That said, I had to come out for this one:
Cyberonics has a high-tech “treatment” for obesity. Apparently, it’s a vagus nerve stimulator that will combat obesity. The report does not say how it will. If it’s anything like other shock treatments, it may be more for those administering treatment than those getting treatment. Because honestly, I don’t see how a shock will improve metabolism any more than lobotomies relieved hysteria in the 19th century. (Women were often given lobotomies when they showed signs of independence. Scary stuff - and way too easy to slide back into).
