Etsy Plus Find: Anything Excellent
Bloomers always give me pause. They’re so old-fashioned, yet so very, very subversive. I remember reading a story as a little girl about how bloomers were invented when one particularly sassy suffragette needed to crawl out onto a roof so out of sheer practicality cut her skirts in half. It makes me think of the woman I call Punk Rock Gramma, who works at a local restaurant. She’s this 60-70 something woman with grey hair, except for a shock of hot pink in her forelock. I bet she wears bloomers.
Anything Excellent is a fun little store that offers mostly skirts and bloomers with the random jewelery piece thrown in. Give it a look – it’s clearly friendly to the plus set, with bloomer options ranging for hips from 38 inches to 46 inches.
I love them! Much more practical than knickers! You dont really need anything else. I wish we could just wear all our favourite bits of fashion through the ages… velvet smoking jackets, togas, lace…..bloomers. Heavenly!
