Igigi 2008: Work Wear Line

Igigi has taken a step forward into giving us clothing for our daily lives, and now has a workwear line available to women. Again, high price is justified by quality, and these styles are classic, wearable, and gorgeous. There are one of two eyebrow raisers among them, but I’m also looking at these items through the eyes of a former midwestern office worker: flare leg pants are great for a special occasion in the Twin Cities, but only people in the arts dare wear them to work. The only place I’ve heard of shorts being OK for office work is in Bermuda – and there is a very specific etiquette around wearing them.

Aside from these unusual takes (cultural differences?) it’s still a great selection of power pieces to punch up your office look.

I personally have designs on that plaid skirt, and their obi-style belts are just amazing- I want!

  1. I love the skirt and the pants, but I don’t really like the jackets. And the shorts? No way.

By the way, the thing about flare pants in the office must be cultural. No one would think twice in Australia, unless they worked in Banking or Finance.
