2008 Junonia Spring Line

One of the reasons I don’t think Junonia clothing gets blogged very much is that they put all their pictures in flash – likely to protect their image copyright – but they wind up losing word of mouth because fashion bloggers absolutely have to tell their stories visually. I can describe a fabulous charmeuse dress to you all, but it’s still not the same as seeing it, after all.

And while I’m not always wild about their options – their prices are steep, and their target market is a bit older and more moneyed/housewifey than I – they do have the occasional really cute item, and from what I’ve heard via word of mouth, their exercise clothing lasts a long, long time making it worth the expense.

This season’s 2008 Spring line from Junonia is rife with animal prints and capris, two of my least favorite fashion looks for plus sizes. But there is an occasional burst of cuteness. This sleeveless V-neck dress has a very summery comfort look I like, and this paisely border print skirt is sweet. While the tops are a little blah for me, this Travel Elite Tie-Front Two-Fer is also great for layering looks in  early spring – say, over that V-neck dress.

    Greetings from Junonia!

Sorry for the lateness of this post. We just found this entry in a blog search and felt it merited a comment.

First of all, thanks much for pointing out the problem with our web images. That’s an issue we weren’t aware of. Using Flash wasn’t a trademark thing for us, it was just the direction our most recent web designers took. We’ll be doing a redesign this year and that’s definitely an issue we’ll address.

Thanks too for giving us full marks on the durability of our clothes. We strive to use the best quality fabrics we can find, and that is often the reason our prices are sometimes a bit higher than other companies. But we think it is the right thing to do – when you love a piece of clothing, you want it to last as long as possible. We are expanding our product line to include more casual wear and adding more and more style pieces, so please keep watching!

    Be well,
