Belt Me: Casual Plus

I’ve been eyeing Casual Plus with no small amount of curiosity for awhile.  The sizing seems a touch stingy, but the designs are clearly for plus people, and the prices don’t look too bad. It’s one of those trendy-ish joints aimed at those who are fresh out of college who still want to look somewhat cute.

I was actually a bit surprised to see chain belts among their accessory collections. I’m honestly not sure how I would wear a chain belt; I consider these somewhat out of fashion – they were hot back when it was all the rage to pierce yourself anywhere you had a skin flap, but  nowadays it seems like a small amount of modesty is just refreshing. Perhaps it would go well over an all black sheath style dress? Or with some black or colored jeans? I’m seriously at a loss as to what I’d do with this.

The Twisted Basket plus size belt, however, is a bit easier to figure out. It’s just that slight taste of retro that you could throw over a swimsuit coverup and wear with a straw hat. It would add shape to that mumu someone gave you – the mumu you’re going to reconstruct so that it shows some leg and accents your lovely bosom. It might also do well if anyone wants to dress up like Crocodile Dundee.

Despite being a little bit thrown by the weirdnes of the belts, the shop does have potential – and some fun stuff on clearance. It’s worth a walk-through.
