Tiers and Flounces

I’ve been seeing these plus size tiered dresses at a few different retailers.

I think they’re a fresh design and very pretty to look at on the models. But I have yet to see one on an actual plus sized person, and given the way these dresses are cut, I question whether it’s a good look for an actual plus sized person.

I’m concerned that the choppy layers might add bulk, or that they detract from the overall silhouette. But I can’t tell until I see it on a few shapes and sizes - nothing works for everyone, but I’m not sure who these pieces would work for.

Has anyone bought one of these dresses? Do you have pictures you’d be willing to share, along with your thoughts on it?

It looks like they’d be nice tummy hiders for those of us with pear shaped bodies. I agree that it would add bulk to people with apple shaped bodies.

Just my opinion, but I think the top one is WAY too busy! I love the color of the second one, and with my shape (basically a generous hourglass) the ruffles at the bottom would probably look good. It looks pretty streamlined down to mid-thigh level. If they started at the hip I wouldn’t touch it with a bargepole, though!!
