Lane Bryant and Shoe Trader
I’m seeing a lot more shoe and clothing store hookups lately – Old Navy and PiperLime, Marshall’s is launching a whole new program (review pending – full disclosure: I got a special request from Marshall’s to be followed up on shortly) and now Lane Bryant as in the mall retailer Lane Bryant has set up a connection with Shoetrader.
Unfortunately, this does not mean that Shoetrader offers shoes with the needs or larger people in mind. Sizing only goes up to 11 m on most shoes, and the elusive double or triple extra wide knee boot is still off the menu – and given my muscley 21.5″ calves, this is a problem. However, there are some nice wide and wide wide widths, allowing for up to 20″ calves.
Not that they don’t have moments of awesome. For instance, these granny boots:

Awesome. Think sweeping skirts and lace sleeves (no cravats, please.)
The site runs a little slow and search seems buggy – changing the size search option to my shoe size only resulted in an error message, although I could find plenty of shoes in my size by shopping categories – but all in all, not bad. I can see why there was a pair off.
So, someone who buys from there – write me and tell me about the shoes!
