If you’re one of the sewing-types out there who reads this blog looking for inspiration for your own stuff (and I KNOW you’re out there!) then this book will be a welcome guide. It helps if you already know how to sew, and know the basics of constructing a pattern, which way the grain of a fabric goes (something that is forever eluding me) and look wistfully at Vogue patterns wishing you could make them even 3 sizes bigger, this book is for you.
It gives simple instructions, and talks frankly about body changes in women over the years. The women used to demonstrate the fitting techniques are not models, but include the actual authors of the book, a granddaughter and some of their friends. As I improve my skills I’ll be referring to it, and perhaps some of you budding designers out there might be able to work it into your workin’ it.
