Disclosure to Reader: about the New Affiliates at Fat Chic
Because I believe in full disclosure, and because you guys are going to see it anyway, it’s time I announce that Fat Chic has signed up with multiple affiliate programs. I know a few readers thought I’d been doing this all along, but I assure you, I haven’t. All those consumer clothing links – including the ones from seemingly bizarre sources – are because I am determined to uncover all sources of plus size clothing available.
The income from this blog comes in off of Google Adwords in Fat Chic search engine and from private advertisers, either independently or via Project Wonderful. I have and will continue to disclose when I receive goods, money or services in exchange for a blog posting by labeling the post in its title “Sponsor Posting.”
What this means for readers:
Hopefully, you will see very little overt change. I will still write my observations on plus size fashion trends, and I will still say something if a design appears to come from a place of contempt for the plus size customer base. I do my best to link back to the source where I find the clothing images I show you – except now, some of those sources will have affiliate links embedded in them.
I’m always pleased to hear about new shops premiering and I enjoy pointing to clothing that makes a good long-term addition to a wardrobe. I stand by my policy on sales: I am not going to make this a sales blog, reporting this or that discount. You can find sales by using the Fat Chic search engine, or among the excellent plus fashion blogs I share Internet space with.
So yes, I will have a small investment in whether you like some of the clothing I post here – but not so much for it to change my writing.
