Catherine Schuler, plus size model, takes on ventures in New Orleans
The New Orleans Times Picayune has a story this month on former plus fashion model Catherine Schuler, and her contributions to the book Image Power.
“A former plus-size model and now an image consultant, Schuller, 55, is the Tim Gunn of the fuller-figured fashion scene. She speaks on TV morning shows, makes in-store appearances, consults with designers about the plus-size market and teaches women with rounder hips and fuller breasts to embrace those curves.”
Schuler brings up the concept of Appearance Related Side Effects. While a casual web search associates this with byproducts of cancer and HIV treatment, Schuler points to it as acts of self-care triggering positive emotional responses that also enhance a person’s health.
