While admittedly bomber jackets hark back to a time that’s somewhat similar to what’s going on now (lots of war and all) I think that reappropriating items of war for objects of fashion can be a good thing – when chosen wisely. Items of poverty, however, should go untouched completely – so W, perhaps you ought to test out that rule, since that last homeless chic stunt was about as edgy and artistic as a rusty nail in a dog’s butt. So when I point to the bomber jacket trend, I bear in mind that some of you may want to add messages about bringing troops home on the back, and a few people might well shy away from these picks – while these items are availabe in mainstream stores, the real things were instruments of war (or at least instruments of keeping pilots from freezing their butts off.)
But if you just want to pair a bomber jacket with something pretty, here are a few finds for you – and let me tell you, the pickings are scarce! Also, shame on you CharmingShoppes for using false metatags to draw business. That’s not customer service, that’s a bait and switch!
