LOL, it’s kind of funny though — well as the person on the opposite end.
Actually, it usually is funny. But if I don’t say something it becomes a habit, and there’s been more than one awkward conversation with someone who has known me for years hears me addressed by my proper name and then gets all confused. “Who the hell is Diana? I thought you were Rachel, and your middle name was Diane or something!”
That’s even funnier. I hate it when my MIL calls me MoeY (dh pet name). It’s one of those ones where I have asked her not to call me that but she does it anyway. Hope your clarification works for you!
