I’m not sure how pablowapsi would feel about it, but I have once or twice referred to him as the “patron saint of bras.” Why? Because his main character on webcomic Wapsi Square is busty, petite – and he narrates her handling the problem realistic. Yes, gravity is a defining character in this particular comic strip. Paul has gone so far as to run a storyline about bra fittings, and has posted to his blog and forums about where women with busted-ness issues can look for help.
I met him a few weeks ago at SpringCon (a local comics convention) and along with ogling the Lego art I had to meet the guy. Have I mentioned I’m a nerd in the most classic sense? While I’ve broken myself of correcting people’s grammar – sorry guys, my parents did it – I’m still into the exact dorky stuff that I was when I was 11. Comic books, Doctor Who, and anything animated except for very specific anime. What you see me wearing is my geek du jour: a grey skirt I bought from Target, the notorious green striped top (on clearance from K-Mart Hawaii), a purse I bought at a Arc thrift store and a TARDIS necklace gifted to my by my sister that she got off of Etsy. Although you can’t see it in the pic, I am wearing knee boots from Jessica London. I’m thrilled that they expanded their calf widths!
And, as I said to another Doctor Who meetup member that day, “Let’s just pretend I’m imitating Daria.”
