The “ideal weight” straight from the 1950s

1950s weight chart

In case you can’t quite read the chart – this was a weight chart from the 1950s. The ideal weights aligned with height were as follows:

5′ 3″ 124
5’4″  127
5′ 5″ 131
5′ 6″ 135
5′ 7″ 139
5′ 8″ 144
5′ 9″ 149
5′ 10″ 154
5′ 11″ 159
6′ 0″ 163

So in 1950, that’s what we were “supposed” to weigh.
