Thimbler is one of the up-and-coming companies that seek to both mass produce and custom-make clothing for the masses. Since most clothing production does involve some type of hands-on work (machines don’t just magically stitch stuff together, there’s a human involved every time) this approach makes a certain amount of sense: there’s no reason not to just send in your measurements and get back what you asked for. Granted, fit is what makes custom work custom – but if you do the fit work on your end, theoretically clothing that follows your directions should come back OK.
This also saves the bugaboo of creating sizing standards – and ideally, the store need not turn any customer away due to size. This store, along with eShakti, appear somewhat ahead of their time in adapting to custom needs requirements. I’ve heard a lot about eShakti in other forums – can someone tell me how Thimbler has worked out for her?
