This is one of those rare occasions where plus fashion actually seems to be on the tide with straight fashion. The zip-up jacket – not a hoodie, not a windbreaker – gives a more interesting visual feel than the usual endless blazer, blazer, cardigan that gets just a little boring. My favorite sweaters always had zippers instead of buttons, and I’m glad to see this trend starting to run to the edge of the “knits” category. Who knows, maybe instead of chenille I’ll see it on a mixed polyester that doesn’t look like it took the bad trip out of Staying Alive.

Options are limited right now – I’m not sure why more plus clothiers didn’t see this as an opportunity for the more contemporary/funky dressers.
