PLEASE READ BEFORE SENDING A MESSAGE
1.Typically I skip posting sales announcements. Plenty of other plus fashion blogs do this. I actually believe that constant sale-chasing leads to overconsumption but I also understand even good financial planners sometimes have bad things happen. I am considering starting a newsletter where I do send out a weekly or monthly email of my affiliates sales, etc. but I am still deliberating because of the cost of most group email programs.

2. If you want me to know about new items in your shop, have a mailing list. I am on the mailing list of every plus shop I can, and I use these heavily in my blogging. Feedburner and Dreamhost have affordable mailing list programs. If your shop is super new, or you are doing something truly innovative in plus design, please email me a press release.

3. I do accept advertising. You can go through my profile page on Project Wonderful, or you can contact me for a static ad on the left of the page that is 164 x 100 pixels. The ad MUST BE a 164×100 jpeg or gif. I’m not crazy about animations, but I tolerate them. Please be aware that they really irritate the most web-savvy and high-end potential customers. I also gladly accept gift cards or product in exchange for ad placement.

4. Before pitching a post to me, read through about 3 months of posts. I especially would like to see reviews of customer service and store quality, independent clothing designs and the processes involved, and lifestyle pieces about exercise, makeup, hair, and family that don’t have the “even though I’m fat” attitude. It should be “hey, this is interesting – and oh yes, fat people are doing this interesting thing that has little to do with their body mass.”This blog is as safe a place I can make it for my plus-sized readers. If you would like help finding a particular clothing item, by all means use Fat Chic clothing search.

5. I’m re-opening the doors to genuine personal networking. Fat Chic has its own Flickr group. I am especially active on Twitter, and you can find other ways to network with me at my landing page.

Keep in mind that recommending widgets and web tweaks will only be considered if they improve the ability to read and use Fat Chic. And no matter what I do, it looks awful in Internet Explorer.

Now that you know the rules, what’s on your mind?
