Sweetheart necklines could be subtitled “sweet! cleavage!†They’re an alternative to more overt bust-bearers, like the scoop neck or the V-neck, and often come with a more structured, cleaner look. If you’re someone who wants to show off that fancy bra, it’s one way to give people a peek. My underwear policy personally is no showing the bottom half; the top half isn’t as big of a deal, although I personally prefer to Hollywood tape it and keep my details to myself.
The handkerchief dress – a strange explanation for inadvertently sewing a dress sideways. OK, since nearly all “mass produced sewing†still involves a living person sitting at a sewing machine, this is actually pretty unlikely. It is, however, a new name for asymmetric hems. I think this is a shame, since I think the classic bandanna fabrics on a dress level would look awesome – especially with studs.

There’s a lot of variations on color block and sheers, and this dress somehow combines them both – a sheer overlay on top, and a half and half blue/black look. Was anyone ever told not to wear black with blue as a kid? It seems like the rule now (if there is one) is “blue on top, black on bottom†unless it’s a really LIGHT blue.

Remember a few years ago when for whatever reason the fashion powers that be saw fit to stop producing anything resembling a dress? It was a plus-size horror. Yes, you can do great things with mixed separates, but nothing works as elegantly as a dress. It’s the single best garment for looking great while reducing the stress of figuring out what goes with what how. If you already have a good bra, the hardest part (most of the time) involves figuring out the shoes. In my own case, I buy clothing to fit my shoes most of the time, which is my own perfect workaround. Others take a far different approach, I suspect because those individuals just like to buy shoes.
Thankfully, as the holidays roll around we once again have plenty of choices for festive dresses with better range than ever for body types. For this round, I decided to find dresses at places I don’t normally visit. If you love something, give it a click and buy it, definitely come over here and tell me how it all works out!
