UK based BeaBea Boutique offers women’s plus sizing ranging from 16-36. They’re also prepared for international visitors, based on the convenient conversions of their sizing chart. If I’m reading their chart correctly, British sizing is simultaneously more and less generous than US based sizing.
There’s some quality design here, and UK tends to be slightly ahead of the US on all fashion fronts – if you’re a forward investor, it’s worth considering. I am a forward investor – I will spend extra money on a piece that I believe will continue to have value years into the future, in the belief that in the long run, spending more on a quality piece early will save me money over time.
Prices are reasonable, about the same range as a shop of similar quality in the US (it is still mostly US shoppers here). At the time I write this, the pound is roughly double the value of the dollar. So if you see something marked 50 pounds, that equates with 100 dollars. The options on this site range from the equivalent of around $40-150. That’s about what you’d spend stateside for lingerie. Shipping costs are also pretty reasonable for international rates, starting at around $15 for international orders.
If you are a US shopper, don’t dismiss this store because it’s across the pond. You buy internationally all the time, especially if you shop in a big chain grocery store. In this case, you’re simply aware of what you’re actually paying in shipping. It’s also much easier to buy internationally than you might think. Most credit cards will convert automatically, as will most debit cards. Just in case, always call your bank first – some charge fees for conversion, some are still benevolent. If you’re really not sure, check an online currency converter – it might shock a little, but it’s worth it if something is just plain good.
I know I have some UK readers out there – anyone fancy a guest spot?
